Society of Design (SOD) is a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization dedicated to multidisciplinary design education and community service.

The organization strives to elevate and expand the discourse on design while providing inspiration to designers and the general public via guest speaker presentations, tours, exhibits, and other initiatives. Additionally, the organization takes on community service and fundraising efforts in support of other non-profits and encourages designers to actively volunteer.

Founded in 2009, SOD's programs have impacted thousands of people and its events have included attendees from more than thirty colleges and universities. The community of individuals who have participated in the organization's activities is representative of the multidisciplinary nature of SOD - architects, educators, filmmakers, graphic designers, industrial designers, photographers, and writers, among many other professions.

The pink & black color scheme is a nod to the organization’s earliest discussions initiated by students at Penn State Harrisburg - the original school colors for Penn State University were pink and black.
