Society of Design was founded in 2009 as a 501(c)(3) charitable non-profit organization dedicated to multidisciplinary design education and community service.
Roughly thirty events and experiences have reached tens of thousands of people, including participants from eight states, more than thirty colleges and universities, and ranging in age from 9 to 70-something.
Additionally, the organization has helped support more than twenty non-profit groups through financial contributions ($35,000+) and volunteer assistance.
Current efforts (as of late 2014) include a transition of the non-profit elements to be conducted under a new name (to be determined) to focus on design education for kids as design studio Go Welsh continues forward with the production of Society of Design events.
PINK & BLACK Society of Design's color scheme has its roots in the original school colors (pink & black) of Penn State University - the location of the first official meeting of Society of Design. RECOGNITION:
